VI. Language in the USA Fellowship

The Language in the USA fellowship is made possible through the generosity of Charles A. Ferguson, Shirley Brice Heath, and the many authors who have contributed their royalties from Language in the USA. The award will be given to a Linguistic Institute participant engaged in research on the language situation in the United States, with preference being given to study of the structure and/or use of minority languages. Participants will be eligible for the award so long as they are registered for at least eight credits.

*Would you like to be considered for the Language in the USA fellowship?
Yes No

If yes, please describe your research on the language situation in the United States. Include a list of your publications and/or presentations that have resulted from this work, if any, if they are not already listed in Section II F.

VII. Bloch Fellowship

I wish to be considered for the Bloch Fellowship. I understand that this award requires the recipient to serve on the LSA Executive Committee for a term of two years, and to Chair the LSA Committee on Student Issues and Concerns, also for a term of two years. This service involves a considerable time commitment. In recognition of this service, the Bloch award covers all travel and rooming expenses associated with attendance at the Institute and LSA Annual Meetings.
VIII. Other Relevant Information

Provide any other relevant information here (work experience (including research assistantships and fieldwork), language competence or experience, materials development, independent projects, study and work abroad, major service to the department or field, etc.).

IX. Recommenders

Provide names and email addresses of two recommenders. (Please check with your recommenders before submitting their names!) Once you have submitted (not just saved!) your application, your recommenders will receive email instructions from the LSA on how to submit a recommendation.
